Earth and Heaven

A child is born and immediately put into a room and held there, nurtured in body, mind and spirit, except for never seeing the outside world. Then the child turns 18, becoming an adult, and is told of an abundant earth, a sunlit sky, magnificent mountains and shimmering seas. Will the adult believe there is such a wondrous place? Are we not in the same situation as that adult when it comes to heaven?
